NOJO Orchestra Music

NOJO

The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) is in an exciting period of growth. As we celebrate our 23rd anniversary, we are excited to be an active part of the community, with our upcoming concert season and many community programs. The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra and NOJO 7 also have a robust domestic and international touring schedule.

Since 2002, NOJO has preserved and advanced the legacy and culture of Jazz throughout New Orleans and global communities by providing unparalleled performances, educational programming, and authentic community engagement. As the largest Black-run Jazz institution in the South, NOJO has been a steadfast presence in New Orleans’ cultural landscape and an unwavering partner to the community in advancing arts, culture, and music education.

We believe that Jazz can be the catalyst for positive and permanent change in our community.

The nature of Jazz compels us to work in collaboration with our surroundings – to improvise when needs change and new opportunities arise. We are committed to using our assets to benefit individuals and groups in our community. Each year, we donate several hundred hours of rehearsal and event time for musicians and nonprofits. Jazz informs, influences, and inspires and we seek to do the same in our neighborhood. We leverage our assets to educate youth, foster musicianship and support local nonprofits.
